“Because there is always room for one more on the bench.”
“No matter what sport you like these guys got it covered. ”
Pickin’ Splinters has concluded its voting for adding fifteen players to the original 50 greatest NBA players list. You can view the voting here: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
View Part 1 and Part 2 of this discussion. In case you’ve missed the first two parts, we’re attempting to expand the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players to accomodate its 65th anniversary as a league in two seasons.
The plan is this: take the last two preseason games (there are four total) and make them count. But tell that to the starters who usually played in only two preseason games anyway. Now they almost have to play in twenty straight weeks
The Blue Jays’ Jose Bautista had one heck of a week swinging the bat. In total he had 5 homeruns, 13 RBIs, and struck out just once. The Jays’ right fielder now leads the Majors with 32 homeruns on the season.

The list rightfully spans both the foundation, innovation and modernization of the game. No true guidelines exist for its compilation. For one, the names were presented sans-position, which allows only the best on the list. Apparently, if you stick a small piece of duct tape to the lower left side of the phone, it will fix the problem of inadvertently disrupting the signal on the new antenna. That’s why it surprised me that Steve Jobs wanted to fix the problem for whatever cost it took. That’s like keeping a promising pitcher who’ll just ask for more money when his contract is up. So for you Cleveland Indian fans, here is what I propose to fix our attendance issues: “Tribe Tape.”

No longer can it just be considered a “rite of passage” for players who have “served their time” in the MLB ranks for a few years proving their worthiness.
I know it’s already been said, but Spain’s Xavi is the best soccer player we’ve (the soccer-apathetic North Americans) never paid attention to. He flies under the American fans’ radar because he’s more known for setting up goals than scoring them. I can’t recall the exact stat at this time, but the World Cup telecast for the final said that Xavi had set up 25 shots on goal, eight more than any other player.
Joe Johnson left the 2010 free agency bonanza with the most money. The Atlanta Hawks will give him a reported $120 million for the next 6 years. That’s around $10 million less than Dwayne Wade and LeBron James. And don’t forget they fired their coach, the one who improved Atlanta’s record every year he coached them. This has to be one of the worst contracts and worst front offices in professional sports. Not that this needs validation, but here’s some career playoff stats:
