There must be something about the sight of the Saint Joe’s logo that makes the basket look extra big for Marah Strickland. After setting a career-high with 31 points against the fellow Jesuit institution a few weeks ago, the graduate student exploded for 22 points on Saint Joe’s home court in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals, leading Fordham to a 65-48 victory over Saint Louis.

#12/12 University of Dayton women’s basketball defeated Saint Louis 71-61 Thursday night at Chaifetz Arena to clinch at least a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season title. The Flyers improve to 25-1 overall and 13-0 in the Atlantic 10 with just one conference game left to play. The 25 wins ties a school record for victories in a season since UD became an NCAA Division I school in 1985-86. The Billikens drop to 11-17 overall and 5-8 in A-10 play.

Harrison’s buzzer beater propels LaSalle past Saint Louis, 49-46

With La Salle leading 46-43 with under five seconds to go, the onus was on Saint Louis to deliver. The Billikens did, knotting the game at 46-46 with 4.8 seconds to go and overtime all but certain. But Shanel Harrison was not having any of that, getting the ball on the inbounds and zipping the length of the court around Billiken defenders to launch a desperation heave at the buzzer – and sinking that attempt for three points and the 49-46 Atlantic 10 win at Tom Gola Arena on Wednesday afternoon.
