With the win, the Hawks will now play for the A-10 title next Saturday, March 16 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

The #12/12 University of Dayton women’s basketball earned their first-ever Atlantic 10 regular season championship on Sunday with a 73-66 win over the Saint Joseph Hawks 73-66. A national television audience watching on ESPN2 and a crowd of 5,288 at UD Arena cheered on as the Flyers became just the sixth Atlantic 10 team to finish the conference season undefeated.

The Hawks got a combined 42 points from seniors Chatilla van Grinsven (Helmond, Netherland/Dr. Kippenberg College), Mireia Vila (Cabrera Del Mar, Spain/Escola Pia Santa Anna), Ashley Prim (Ansonia, Conn./Kolbe Cathedral) and Shelby Smith (Ames, Iowa/West) as they earned improved to 20-7 overall and 11-2 in the Atlantic 10.
