The College at Brockport Men’s Basketball was awarded their first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Athlete of the Week with senior Hamed Shamseldin taking home the honors.
Shamseldin helped lead the team to a 3-1 record on the week with multiple impressive performances. He started off with a triple-double against Medaille College, where he dropped 26 points, while having a career high in rebounds (11) and assists (11). The Lawrence, N.Y. native followed up that performance by registering 42 points against a No. 19 ranked Hobart College. In addition, he grabbed nine rebounds, dished out six assists and picked pockets with six steals. Shamseldin starred even in a nail-biting loss against SUNY Oneonta. He put up 28 points and snagged another 28 points.
The Golden Eagles continue conference play on Dec. 8 when they host Plattsburgh State for a 7:30 p.m. Friday night matchup.
