For the second time in three seasons, St. Bonaventure’s men’s basketball team will play Syracuse.

The teams will meet on Friday, Dec. 22, in the Orange’s Carrier Dome.

The last meeting between the teams was on November 17, 2015 in Syracuse. The Orange prevailed, 79-66.

St. Bonaventure will return four starters from last year’s 20-win team, led by two-time All-Conference senior point guard Jaylen Adams. Adams is joined by senior guards Matt Mobley and Idris Taqqee. Mobley was a third team All-Conference selection last season, when he and Adams combined to average 39.7 points per game. Sophomore Josh Ayeni┬áreturns as the starter at power forward. The Bonnies are coached by 2016 A-10 Coach of the Year Mark Schmidt, who will be in his 11th season.

Adams, who averaged 20.6 points per game last season, scored 16 points against Syracuse in the 2015 contest.

Last season, Syracuse was 19-15 and reached the second round of the NIT. Coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I mentors, enters his 42nd season as Syracuse head coach.

The tipoff time for the game is still to be determined.

The remainder of the Bonnies’ non-conference schedule will be released next month.
