Max Yale did a little bit of everything and paced the Honeoye Bulldogs to the top spot in Finger Lakes West Baseball. A menace on the base paths and dominant on the mound the junior led the league in in four categories: stolen bases (32), runs scored (31), strike outs (103) and league wins (7). With those numbers and more, Yale earned Finger Lakes West Player of the Year.
Yale finished with a batting average of .420 to go with an on-base percentage of .523 as Honeoye went 10-1 in league play and 10-5 overall. Teammates Brett Higley and Jon Vieira joined Yale on the first team. Red Jacket’s Brandon Mott and Jonathan Yacono garnered first-team nods helping the Indians to second place at 8-3 on the season.
Bloomfield’s Thomas Beikirch grabbed a spot on the first team as did Dylan Howell (Marcus Whitman), Bobby Strait (Dundee), Nassir Whitley (South Seneca) and John Zajac (South Seneca).
