Wizards seal game at the free throw line

WASHINGTON – Bradley Beal netted 24 points and grabbed four rebounds as the Wizards (42-26) ended a two-game skid. John Wall scored 14 points and dished out 20 assists.

Jimmy Butler (28) and Robin Lopez (25) combined for 53 points, but the Bulls (32-37) have lost their second in a row.

With 18 seconds left in regulation Otto Porter Jr. sunk two free throws to make it 110-107 Wizards. After the made free throws, Butler had the ball in his hands, but he missed a three-point try to tie the game.

Miami Heat 123  Minnesota Timberwolves 105

MIAMI – Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson scored 23 points a piece as the Heat (34-35) have won six out of their last seven games. Goran Dragic added a double-double with 19 points and 10 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns (31), Andrew Wiggins (26) and Ricky Rubio (20) combined for 77 points, but the Timberwolves (28-40) have lost their last two games.

Philadelphia 76ers 116  Dallas Mavericks 74

PHILADELPHIA – Justin Anderson scored 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out three assists off the bench as the 76ers (25-43) have won two out of their last three games. Robert Covington added 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Boston Celtics 98  Brooklyn Nets 95

BROOKLYN – Jae Crowder recorded a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Celtics (44-25) extended their winning streak to three games. Brook Lopez scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists, but the Nets (13-55) have lost two out of their last three games. Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure) netted 11 points, grabbed two rebounds, handed out two assists and took away two steals in 17 minutes played off the bench.

Toronto Raptors 87  Detroit Pistons 75

DETROIT – Serge Ibaka dropped a team high 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Raptors (40-29) have won two out of their last three games. DeMar DeRozan added 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Reggie Jackson scored 20 points and handed out six assists, but the Pistons (33-36) losing streak extended to three games. Andre Drummond recorded 22 rebounds.

New Orleans Pelicans 128  Houston Rockets 112

NEW ORLEANS – Solomon Hill (30) and Anthony Davis (24) combined for 54 points as the Pelicans (28-41) have won three out of their last four games. James Harden registered his 18th triple-double of the season with 41 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. The Rockets (47-22) had won three straight.

Orlando Magic 109  Phoenix Suns 103

PHOENIX – Evan Fournier scored a team high 25 points as the Magic (25-45) snapped their four game losing streak. Nikola Vucevic added a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. T.J. Warren netted a team high 26 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Suns (22-47) losing streak extended to three games.

Milwaukee Bucks 107  Los Angeles Lakers 103

LOS ANGELES – Giannis Antetokounmpo registered 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists as the Bucks (34-34) have won eight out of their last nine games. Khris Middleton scored a team high 30 points. Jordan Clarkson dropped 21 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Lakers (20-49) are on a four game losing streak.
