NEWPORT NEWS, Va. —Duquesne senior April Robinson was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Massachusetts freshman Bria Stallworth earned the league’s Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday for games played Jan. 25-31.
Robinson averaged 20.5 points and 10 rebounds along with 4.0 assists on 14-of-30 (.467) shooting from the field and 7-of-15 (.467) from 3-point range. The Springfield, Va., native recorded a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Richmond followed by a 25-point, nine-rebound performance against VCU in which she was 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. This is Robinson’s fifth A-10 Player of the Week honor this season.
Stallworth had two twenty-point performances this past week, scoring 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting against Rhode Island and scoring 21 against George Mason on 8-of-16 shooting from the field. For the week, the Chicago, Ill., native averaged 20.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting .556 (5-of-9) from 3-point range.
Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll
Saicha Grant-Allen averaged a team-best 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in a two-win week for Dayton. For the week, she shot 59.1 percent from the floor while playing 30 minutes per game for UD … Dayton freshman Lauren Cannatelli posted her third 20+-point game of the season Wednesday at La Salle after sinking four of her seven 3-point field-goal attempts on the way to 20 points. Cannatelli also grabbed four rebounds, dished two assists and recorded a steal against the Explorers … Duquesne freshman Kadri-Ann Lass was 10-of-17 (.588) shooting from the field in wins over Richmond and VCU. Lass averaged 10 points per game along with 4.5 rebounds for the week … Brianna Cummings led GW to wins over Davidson and Saint Louis averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. She shot 61.1 percent (11-18) from the floor and 80 percent (8-10) from the foul line. Cummings scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds while adding three steals, a block and an assist in GW’s 79-60 win at Davidson and followed with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting plus six rebounds and two steals in the Colonials’ 89-80 victory over the Billikens on Sunday … George Washington freshman Mei-Lyn Bautista scored a career-high 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-of-5 from long distance, in GW’s 79-60 win at Davidson … Charise Wilson averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals over Rhode Island’s two games last week. She scored a season-high 28 points to lead the Rams to a win at Massachusetts and became the first player in program history to make 50 or more 3-pointers in two different seasons … St. Bonaventure’s Mariah Ruff averaged 10.0 points and five assists in wins over Saint Joseph’s and Richmond. The Bonnies remain unbeaten at home this season … Saint Joseph’s Chelsea Woods tallied her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and adding 10 rebounds in a loss to St. Bonaventure. She followed with a career-day against La Salle, tallying a career-best 21 points to go with four rebounds and three steals … Sadie Stipanovich recorded her 10th career game with 20 or more points with a game-high 20 points against George Washington, For the week, she averaged 16.0 points and 7.0 rebounds.
