PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph’s placed three players on All-Philadelphia Big 5 Team, as Ronald Roberts, Jr., earned First Team honors and Langston Galloway and Carl Jones were named to the All-Big 5 Second Team.
Roberts, a junior forward from Bayonne, N.J., turned in his best season as a Hawk, averaging 11.2 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game. He recorded a team-high 13 double-doubles on the season and shot 52.9 percent from the field. Roberts, an Atlantic 10 All-Conference Third Team selection, averaged 12.1 points and 8.6 rebounds in conference games. He led the league in offensive rebounds, with 3.6 per contest.
Galloway, a junior guard from Baton Rouge, La., ranked second on the team in scoring with a 13.8 average. He scored double figures in 23 games and topped the Hawks with 80 three-point field goals made. This marks Galloway’s second selection to the All-Big 5 Team, as he earned First Team honors in 2012. The team captain, Galloway was named to the Allstate NABC Good Works Team for community service.
Jones, a senior guard from Garfield Heights, Ohio, closed out his SJU career as the third leading scorer in school history with 1,845 points. The team’s leading scorer with a 13.7 average, he tallied double figures in all but seven games. Jones hit 60 three-point field goals this season and ended his career with 213, which ranks seventh on Saint Joseph’s all-time list. This marks the third consecutive selection to the All-Big 5 Second Team for Jones.
