Okay loyal readers, here is your chance to get the discussion going. Let us know what is on your mind. Today is a great day for the Pine
My thought for the day: WhiteSox are toast !! What is that … 5 heart-breaking come-from-ahead-losses in the last 8 or 9 games … most of them vs the Twins???? Hard to win tight, meaningful ballgames when your players all have both hands firmly clutching the esophagus. Choke!!!!!! Good thing football is right around the corner !!!
Out.
Clemens! Breaking news! Liar, liar, pants on fire!
here’s one link – http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/20/sports/baseball/20clemens.html?hp
Did anyone see the LeBron interview??? Is there a class in college that teaches athletes to refer to themselves in the third person?
“We watched how the Cavaliers treated LeBron..” Huh??
Somebody should tell the guy that people who live in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones…
Am I the only one, or has Clay Bucholtz very quietly pitched his way into the Cy Young race?
Now that I just jinxed him, I am going to go slam my head against the wall.
Funny how Roger had no problem telling the truth when it came to his wife’s use of PEDs. It takes a special person to admit his wife was in their bedroom with another man.
Smitty, Buchholz has quietly pitched himself into the Cy Young picture, but he still has a couple of obstacles to overcome: his innings are low (because he was injuried, but it will still hurt him) and so are his strikeouts. And, of course, we all know how important strikeouts are.
Seriously, not to fire that discussion up again. In this case, what I’m saying is that we know voters are prejudiced against guys who barely break the 100-strikeout mark. Buchholz has 89 right now. Price and Sabathia are the front-runners. Don’t count out Jon Lester either, although he needs to do a little catching up in the wins department.
Smitty … why don’t you just aks Lebron yourself? That’s right … aks him.
I’ve always hated Clemens … probably irrationally in the past … but now I feel perfectly OK about it. I hope he roasts for this … that cocky #@!%$!@%#!.
I never really liked Clemens either, too much arrogance. The straw that took him off my xmas card list was when he chucked a piece of broken bat at Piazza. That was classy.
How about Shaq’s new nickname now that he is wearing Celtic green? Here’s what I got:
- The Jaded Green Giant
- The Green Glutton
- The Colossal Clover
- Shaqtus
- Shraq
Well, his last name is O’Neal. Should fit right in, being Irish and all.
Guess we won’t be seeing Jay on Around the Horn for a while.

$50,000 bail? Geez……
Jay Marriotti should have been arrested a long time ago for trying to steal the identity of Eddie Munster. The resemblance is uncanny.
I thought Billy Donovan had the Eddie Munster look.
