Did someone mention PLAYOFFS?!?

Sixes are wild in the NHL. Elimination is possible is in the NBA. And, oh yeah, the Bucks and Hawks will actually play a game.

Thomas Vanek is back in the lineup for the Sabres as they visit Beantown.

Patrick Kane and the Black Hawks look to advance.

The Habs try to stave off elimination.

Can Dwight Howard stay out of foul trouble?

Can Brandon Roy do it again?

Brandon Jennings is on the loose!

All this and more.

It’s not just game day. It’s playoff day. Share your views on “THE PINE!”

Casey … I’m just enjoying the “sports fans glee” during this wonderful time of the year. Wall-to-wall playoffs EVERY DAY. Gotta love it.

Having attended several Chicago Blackhawks games in the past … but not for several years now … I just wanted to climb through my TV set and join the home crowd on Saturday. I could feel the electricity at the “Madhouse on Madison” thru the telecast. And I’m convinced their Indian head jerseys are the best uniforms in sports … just don’t know whether I like the white or red ones better. Had Tony Esposito’s #35 red jersey as a ute.

Was that halfcourt jumper by Lebron vs the Bulls just sick or what? How strong is that guy ?!?!?!?! It was practically perfect form … from 50 feet!

You know it’s good when NBA arenas sound like college games. Did you catch the highlights from the game at Milwaukee the other night? Andrew Bogut’s season ticket group singing? It was great.
The fans in Montreal were wild tonight. Game 7 in Washington!

The halfcourt shot by LeBron was ridiculous.. He made it look effortless – pick him up before halfcourt because you never know when he is going to pull up from 40 ft and drop a J on you.

The ending to the Blackhawks game on Saturday was tremendous, but should Marion Hossa been in the game during OT? And then not suspended? NHL has to start getting more consistent on the penalties for these infractions. Ovechkin gets a two game suspension, but Hossa doesn’t? Can’t punish based on past incidents you have to punish on the act. Hossa shouldn’t have been playing.

Speaking of playing… the Sabres aren’t and they have some work to do this offseason. The makeup of the series changed dramatically when Vanek went down in Game 2. Sure he is a great player, but Sabres had trouble scoring the whole series with and without Vanek. They need to get a scorer in to help offset the load on Vanek. Derrick Roy – the Mayor of Pansyville needs to go and possibly Tim Connolly.

You have to horse in net with Ryan Miller… spend some $$ and go for Stanley Cup. Not like Golisano isn’t down in Florida taking a bath in his billions. I digress..

The Sabres have to get tougher. The Bruins pushed them around all series.

Torres ended up being a waste of an acquisition.

Gerbe and Ennis have bright futures. They got to develop those guys. I’d like to say I know who the Sabres have on the farm, but their minor league team is no longer here. Thanks Steve Donner.

Ennis is definitely going to have a bright future with the Sabres. Same with Gerbe. Funny watching Ennis fly around the rink and hitting people and Roy just standing there making one dumb play after another. Not something you would expect from your Captain.

I like Lindy Ruff, but maybe it is time for a change?

Get a new coach? I don’t know. Ruff preaches defense first and some guys don’t like that. Might be Roy’s hang up. Ruff and Rieger seem to understand Buffalo’s plight. The Sabres are competitive year after year with a limited budget.

Good. I completely agree with it. I think they need to overall some of the players. Roy and Connolly to start. Does Roy even buy into Ruff’s system? At times maybe, but too often he does stuff that just leaves me shaking my head.

From the glimpses I have seen, the Sabres farm system has a lot to offer. Ennis was fun to watch during the playoffs. Can you imagine a line with him and Vanek on it? Just need a center to complement.
