I stumbled across these today and didn’t want them to get lost, so what better place to archive than here on Pickin’ Splinters?? Sure beats US Cellular Field. Tight one with Wrigley, though. What was the old field in Detroit. I liked that one because it was such a weird configuration.
The name of Detroit’s field was not particularly unique: Tiger Stadium. We caught one game there. 450 to deep center, but short down the lines. Like Pete said a weird configuration.
I have fond memories of Chet Lemon roaming center field in both parks.
Ah, the good old days. Chet Lemon, wow! Luis Aparicio at Comiskey. Al Kaline at Tiger Stadium.
