Yeah Smitty, it was stunning. For those who didn't see it, a clip is here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fS55CpCO68I - the announcers are hilarious. This clip should go in a hall of fame or something. The coach is even funnier - "we didn't have time to get the field goal team on" he says, but shouldn't they be ready to go just in case the 4th and 26 converted? Somewhere, every athlete who blundered and was caught on tape laughs a little, knowing they just moved down the ladder, and LSU claims the top rung.

UConn football gets my nomination. The win at ND was 1) quite special for this up and coming program, esp in light of the tragedy earlier this year, and 2) It solidly hammered the last nail into the CW coaching coffin ... now let's get going and move on quickly with naming a successor there.

Bill - I have to agree about the LSU game - especially when the announcers began yelling - "what are they doing??? "

I am going to nominate the QBs from the game nobody saw or listened to - Matthew Stafford and Brady Quinn. If there was any thoughts of the Browns letting Brady Quinn go - forget it. They just got a glimpse of the future in this game - for both teams, but especially the Browns. Maybe they should let Brady Quinn get a season behind center, before making a decision.

But yesterday, the Stafford/Quinn duo combined for 726 yards passing and 9 TDs. Stafford also took a nasty shot at the end of the game keeping the final play alive..

Impressive all the way around

Without knowing all the games, I'd say give it to TO for 197 yards receiving. Sure, Buffalo ultimately lost, but we finally see what happens when Buffalo decides to toss the ball TO's way.

On the other end of the spectrum, LSU's quarterback spiking the ball with 1 second left on the clock was priceless.
