Dismay is the only word I can use to describe as I watched the Giants’ game unfold. I went from – yes! now we are playing – to what just happened there?

Hey, thanks for the plug, Casey. I just got around to reading this. I take it you’re agonizing over the Giants? The one thing I left out of my article is that one of your teams’ success can go a long ways towards softening the blow for another’s failure. I know that doesn’t apply to you in this case, but while I was pretty dumbfounded at the Giants’ loss this weekend, I’m kind of shrugging it off.

Time to pull the plug on Lovie Smith in Chicago. Lovie is supposed to be a defensive specialist … so when your offense sux, maybe you get a new OC … but when your D sux, like it does now, back up the truck and start over. We get an All-Pro quarterback, and now he’s looking like Rex Grossman! Fire Lovie!!!!

Okay … so now we’ve established that he should definitely be fired. But will the Bears actually do it??? Probably not … they’re one of the cheapest, penny-pinching organizations since Charles Comiskey’s White Sox turned black over 90 years ago.
