Phew.. Wally didn't mention mine.

I am going with Rashard Mendenhall of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last week he was benched for not being fully up on the playbook. He took the benching to heart and the results are dramatic for this week:

29 rushes for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns.

I don't like the Steelers, but I have to salut Mike "Omar Epps" Tomlin for the way he handled Mendenhall and for how the running back responded to the benching.

I fully support the "Never say Die" Minnesota Twins for POTW. Just can't say enough about the fight in this team, regardless of what happens Tuesday.

My first honorable mention goes to Notre Dame's Golden Tate who accounted for 275 yards of offense (244 receiving) during ND's stirring comeback win vs Washington.

My second honorable mention goes to the Chicago White Sox for playing hard during this last 3 game series at Detroit, winning two games and making the 3rd quite interesting. If they had only played with this type intensity during most of the season ... oh well, at least the Twins benefitted!
