He's got the better part of a season left to improve and he's obviously a great athlete. But most of all, he's a bright kid and a leader .... and I think at this point, that's the most important part about playing QB in the pros. I continue to be impressed with QBs drafted in the later rounds who didn't necessarily go to the pre-eminent football schools and/or don't have the greatest physical attributes. Joe Flacco, Chad Pennington, Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Phil Simms, etc, etc. Meanwhile, you've got plenty of the opposites who haven't impressed us at all in the NFL: Vince Young, Rick Mirer, the bust from Wash St, JeMarcus Russell, Rex Grossman, etc, etc. I bet Paulus makes it and is eventually a decent starter in the NFL. Who knows - maybe 4 years of playing under Coach K is making him a better decision maker at the QB position. But the announcers spoke volumes about the progress he continues to make week in and week out. Some of the throws he made Saturday night - were big time throws. Paulus might have picked the wrong sport, but there is no way he could have played four years of football and then made the transition to hoops. Paulus was 24 for 35 for 346 with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Williams (yet another Mike Williams who is a WR) caught 11 passes for 209 yards and 2 TDs. Williams passed Art Monk and Rob Moore on SU's all-time reception list - pretty good company. Williams appears to take on the torch as the next great SU receiver to play in the NFL.
