Great story, too, because it was the first game his dad saw him play. Good call, Casey.

This may be going against the grain, but I'm going with...Jonathon Sanchez. The left-hander made the most of a spot start. Should I cite that last sentence?

I really can't think of anyone else and doubt anyone is more deserving. Besides - I liked this because of the circumstances mentioned. His father also flew in from Puerto Rico for the game. It was pretty cool to watch his father and who appeared to be his brother in the stands after every out following the sixth.

I couldn't believe that a perfect game could be ended by an error in the field. I understand why now, but at the time thought that was a travesty. How bad must the third baseman have felt? (Uriba?)
