Will the Cleveland Cadavers pull their collective heads out to come back and win this series vs Orlando? My guess is that they win a close one tonight (Game 5) and then go down in flames back in Orlando for Game 6. Lebron has been pretty fantastic, but it’s a team game and Orlando definitely appears much stronger for players 1-6.

Anyone over there in Redsoxnation a little concerned about the Yankmees recent surge?

Are the Dodgers THAT good???? By far the best record in baseball … winning at a .688 clip … and still doing great without Manny.

As a close follower of the AL Central, the Tigers have me worried. They are starting to pull away … looks like all that talent is starting to gel and some maturity is setting in.

Adam Jones of Baltimore … is he the reincarnation of Eric Davis? Boy, the Orioles sure need a shot in the arm like this.

Really gotta appreciate Raul Ibanez of the Phillies. The veteran is a real pro with a great attitude who does it the right way. It’s nice to see him doing great and playing on a winner.

All right! My first thread/question; what is the significance of the Ponderosa/Bonanza map?
As to Yankees, I said A-Rod would return and lead them with his usual late-May surge. Red Sox fans need not worry, except about Tampa Bay.
The Tigers look like the best bet of the surprise early leaders to stay the term. Will Manny prove to be the Dodgers’ A-Rod, actually destroying chemistry when he returns? I’m leaning to “yes” on that one. His early acceptance was a mirage. The Dodgers’ current performance is indication to this psychologist that they are very happy to play without him. There was an underlying tension centered around “when is the real Manny going to show”. When he left everybody relaxed and their talent shown through. Mark my words; Manny is the new A-Rod, but the old A-Rod is still up and running too.
Seems to be a pretty consistent formula in baseball; the more money you make, the worse you are to your team’s chemistry. Maybe the Yankees could get Manny and end ANY hope of ever making the playoffs.

Pete – no significance at all to the Ponderosa map. For no particular reason I used Hogan’s Heroes last week. So, I was thinking of other shows from my youth. Of course there are some on this site that have no idea that there was a show called Bonanza. :)

Wally I’m hearin’ ya’. When I drive all-night, as I do often, I tell my wife that once the sun comes up all tiredness and thoughts of sleep go away. I would probably not survive in the Land of the Midnight Sun. Actually, who am I kidding? I go on 4 hours a night now. Maybe I’d THRIVE up there. We’ll see when I come to visit you. I’ll probably come in the Land of the Noontime Darkness phase, resulting in my first full night’s sleep in ages.

    Pete –
It’s never dark here in southcentral Alaska at noon time … the “worst ” it gets for us in late December is approx 6 hours of daylight (9:30am-3:30pm).

Let me know when you’re coming up!

This is hilarious if you have five minutes and know the many personas at a pickup basketball game:

Ha! At least those guys were playing on 10′ rims.

Rome did a spoof like this. It was also great stuff.

I didn’t see anyone who faked like he just blew his nose all over the ball. ;)
