Hopefully, you won’t run into me in my present line of work as Illinois Supreme Court Justice for the Second District. If you do, it may be hard to imagine that I worked on the gridiron for a couple of decades. My sports career began in Rochester, New York where at McQuaid Jesuit High School I lettered in both football and soccer. Yeah, you read that right – football and soccer. Coaches thought enough of me that after finishing on the pitch, I would head over and put a few through the uprights. The latter skill served me well in college as I helped Ara’s boys to the ’73 title. I connected on 98 of 101 extra point attempts in college including 68 consecutive at one point. I enjoyed a twelve-year career with four teams in the NFL.
