As a minor leaguer I continued the longest game in professional baseball history with an RBI in the 21st inning. My major league career would far surpass that accomplishment. For seven consecutive years I had over 200 base hits. Of my 18 summers in the major leagues only two times did I finish with a batting average below .300. My lifetime average ranks in the top 40 all-time. I led the AL in times on base for eight consecutive campaigns. I slapped doubles to the tune of finishing in the top five of the league on eight occasions. I made 12 appearances in the mid-Summer classic. My trophy case includes two Gold Gloves, eight Silver Sluggers, and one World Series ring. For all this and more I earned a spot at Cooperstown.

Edged out by seconds, probably because I’m further away from the home base than Smitty. ;)

Wow! Chas – Muels knows how you feel. :)

    Score one for Smitty.

Gotta prevent Chas from increasing that lead.

You know you’re good when your opponents starting plotting against you. :)
