My six-year NFL career was one of promise unfulfilled. I was drafted in the 3rd round out of Long Beach St. as a running back and wide receiver. After a rookie campaign learning the ways of the league, I made my mark. I finished in the top ten of all-purpose yards for the next four seasons – leading the league once and also finishing second and third in different seasons – earning myself a spot in the Pro Bowl on three occasions. Sporting News, UPI, the Associated Press, and the Pro Football Writers all nominated me for a variety of awards. I etched my name with kickoff returns for tds in consecutive seasons. I also returned a punt to the house. In my 81 career games I scored 24 touchdowns. Unfortunately, that number was dwarfed by my 62 career fumbles.
